Be active!

Busy people don’t believe this, until they try it, but if you take a little time to relax, tension and stress are reduced and the mind can better attack the urgent issues of the day.

When you’re planning your day, (try using the 20 minute solution!) be sure to include exercise and meditation.

I know what you’re saying.  “I’m too busy to exercise.”

It’s not an option!  It’s a necessity to a quality life.  Just like food, water, sleep.  If you can take just 20 minutes to exercise, you will feel more energetic.  AND your mind will be clearer, able to think better.

Sometimes, when I need to solve a difficult problem, if I go for a walk with the question in the back of my mind, my subconscious will set to work on the solution.  (That’s how I came up with the idea for this website.  And the name came to me during my morning meditation.)

Okay, so make exercise part of something else.  Choose a restaurant for lunch that 10 minutes away from your office.  Or, walk to the post office instead of driving.  Walk up the stairs instead of taking the elevator.  You’re an artist.  Be creative.  It’s important.

Meditation is another very important part of the day.  Call it quiet time.  Call it a wakeful nap, or thinking time, but DO IT!

I must admit, it took an enormous amount of courage for me to finally tell my family that I wanted to meditate.  I thought they would make fun of me.  They didn’t.  HUZZAH!  I made a commitment, do something for myself.  Now, it’s part of my daily routine.  And my family knows that it’s sacred time.
Interruptions?  Sure.  I’m a mom.  There’s always another day to do it again.
