What we’re reading…

As time and space allow, we will recommend books, tapes, and CD’s that make life easier.

Here’s the list (in no particular order)

  • The Creative’s Curse, by Todd Brison. My absolute ALL-TIME FAVORITE book on creativity. Why? Because Todd tells it like it is. He speaks to the busyness of the creative’s brain and offers solutions that actually work.
  • Coaching the Artist Within: Advice for Writers, Actors, Visual Artists and Musicians by Eric Maisel, PhD. Any book by Dr. Maisel will help you find your creative path. This book provides excellent suggestions to help yourself and find confidence as a creative.
  • What If It Does Work Out?: How a Side Hustle Can Change Your Life by Susie Moore. I recently joined Susie’s Self Coaching Society. Her clear, helpful advice will change your life in the most positive ways.
  • The Artist’s Way, by Julia Cameron.  Definitely a book that changed my life.  Her suggestion to write 3 pages a day, what she calls Morning Pages, helped me develop a habit that has since turned into two completed novels and two more that are half way.
  • Time Management for the Creative Person, by Lee Silber.  The second book that changed my life.  This book is filled with strategies to help right brain people get control of the clock and the calendar.  But, the life changing exercise comes near the end of the book.  Order a copy for yourself.  It’s very powerful.
  • Manifesting Your Destiny, by Wayne Dyer.  This is an audio tape series produced by Nightingale-Conant.  Dr. Dyer describes the twice daily 20 minute meditation that I alluded to on the Time 2 Relax page.  Want to change your life?  Try it.
  • Write It Down, Make it Happen, by Henriette Anne Klauser.  You don’t believe in the power of the written word?  Read some of stories in this book, then try your own experiment.
  • The 12 Minute Total Body Workout, by Joyce Vedral.  I’ve tried many exercise programs.  I’ve been a member to Nautilus clubs, etc.  THIS program is different and it works.  AND it fits in with the 20 minute solution.
  • Practical Intuition, by Laura Day.  I must admit that this book is ‘spooky.’ It’s full of exercises that prove that we are all more intuitive than we realize. I haven’t finished reading the entire book.  I’m trying to savor every page.
